About me

Hi there, my name is Gabi O’Sullivan. This is the story of With Kindness.

With Kindness grew from many years of working in care and support roles, beginning when I was 18. I started in childcare before moving into disability support work in my early twenties, where I worked as a support worker for seven years. These experiences shaped my understanding of care, responsibility, and the importance of meeting people where they are.

In 2016, I commenced tertiary study in psychology, completing study to second-year level. In 2017, alongside my studies, I began volunteering with Lifeline on the crisis support telephone service. In 2021, this role developed into paid work and expanded to include web and text-based support. During this time, I also volunteered as a student mentor, supporting the training of new crisis supporters and assisting in the facilitation of Lifeline’s person-centred and strengths-based approach.

It was through my work at Lifeline that I felt called to shift my professional focus toward counselling and psychotherapy. I went on to complete a Bachelor of Counselling and Psychotherapy at the IKON Institute of Australia, completing my placement through an ecotherapy organisation. This experience strengthened my appreciation for nature-based and embodied approaches to therapeutic work.

Alongside my therapeutic work, I also hold a Certificate III in Fitness and teach cycle classes. This allows me to bring an integrated understanding of mental health, movement, and general wellbeing into my counselling and coaching work where appropriate.

At the heart of With Kindness is a simple philosophy: kindness matters. Kindness toward yourself, first and foremost, and kindness toward others. I believe meaningful change happens when people feel safe, respected, and supported to move at their own pace.
